About Aijalon Baptist Church

Meet Our Pastor

Rev. Dr. Jason M. Moseley

While many leaders pursue accolades, awards and applause, Dr. Jason M. Moseley is solely in full pursuit of purpose fulfillment. Most passionate about seeing individuals healed, whole and prosperous in every area of their lives, Dr. Jason Moseley is on a mission to empower everyone he encounters to become the best version of themselves and live the abundant life God promised. Intentional about helping people heal mentally, emotionally and spiritually, Dr. Moseley serves not only as minister, but mentor, to many as he works diligently to instill God-fidence in people worldwide.

Dr. Moseley acknowledged his call to the preaching ministry at the tender age of 13. With this spiritual resolve he preached his initial sermon on August 22, 2004 at his home church, the Bethel Temple Baptist Church of Detroit, Michigan. In June 2017, he was installed as the proud Senior Pastor of the Aijalon Baptist Church of Detroit, MI where the motto is, “Acquiring Souls, Building Families, and Cultivating Hearts for Ministry” (ABC). Dr. Moseley also serves within the Michigan District Baptist Association; the Baptist, Missionary, and Educational State Convention of Michigan; the National Baptist Convention, U.S.A. Inc; and the Kingdom Alliance Covenant Fellowship International.

Church History

Aijalon Baptist Church is an affiliate of the Michigan District Baptist Association; Baptist, Missionary and Educational Convention (BM&E) of the State of Michigan; Kingdom Alliance Covenant Fellowship International (KACFI); and the National Baptist Convention, USA, Inc.

Aijalon Baptist Church was organized on July 5, 1925 in a small building near Hubbard Street and Michigan Avenue in Southwest Detroit, Michigan under the leadership of Reverend M.J. Jackson who served as moderator. Over the years, God has prospered this body of believers as it formalized several ministries and grew in membership. This increase resulted in multiple relocations: 24th & Hancock (1947), 4803 25th St (1951), 340 W. Grand Blvd. (1981), and 15727 Plymouth Rd. (1998). Aijalon settled at its current home at 6419 Beechwood St, Detroit, MI 48210 in November 2001.

It is the mission of the Aijalon Baptist Church to “Acquire Souls, Build Families, and Cultivate Hearts for Ministry”. We recognize that each soul carries a unique story, struggles, and aspirations. Our ministry is dedicated to meeting individuals right where they are, extending a hand of compassion and guidance. This calling isn't limited to a single moment; it's a continuous effort to walk alongside those who are seeking purpose, hope, and redemption. In our pursuit of spiritual transformation, we recognize the pivotal role that families play in shaping our lives. Beyond the walls of the church, we are committed to building strong, loving families that mirror the divine love and unity exemplified in the Holy Scriptures. Through intentional teaching, mentorship, and spiritual guidance, we aim to equip believers with the necessary tools to become effective ministers in their own right. Whether within the walls of the church or out in the world, our goal is to empower individuals to embrace their unique calling and contribute meaningfully to the betterment of society.

Since 2017, Pastor Jason M. Moseley has demonstrated the anointing and fortitude to advance the ministry of the church. He is committed to showing the members something different and allowing the Holy Spirit to be the ultimate guide in all things. Pastor Jason understands that it would take strategy, perseverance, grit, clear lines of communication and financial literacy to reinvigorate a people to whom God entrusted him. As a result, he works tirelessly to ensure that the members of Aijalon are equipped and empowered to function as the body of believers that God called them to be. Under his leadership, Aijalon Baptist Church has stabilized financially, made significant capital improvements to its building, launched a community development corporation called Forever Faith, licensed its first woman minister, acquired more land, and embarked on efforts to ensure that ministry meets the needs of the total person.
